Bear's bleeding again

Mend0zA on Monday, September 30 2002 9:21 PM

Mostly I'm just trying to get things working, so ignore this.

Huzzah.

Mend0zA on Thursday, September 26 2002 3:37 AM

Okay.

  1. I didn't screw up my website, the server just wasn't keeping up with the demands I was putting on it. It's happy again, through no direct intervention by me. Though in attempting to fix it, I upgraded to a new beta of Coranto, just in case that was the problem.
  2. The 'surprise' that seemed to blow the site up is ready to go when the time is right, which it isn't. Yet.
  3. A conversation the other day got me thinking...Are there any people reading this site that I don't know about? Any King Alumni I don't know about? Any Exes scarily pining for me? (Because of course, that seems oh so likely) Any Gay Texas Stalkers? Is the CIA? Shouldn't they be? Seriously folks, I have no idea if anyone's reading this crap. If you are, click on one of the 8000 convenient links to email me.
  4. Completely unrelated to that surprise I've been working on, download this, and extract the files to your fonts directory. (C:\Windows\FONTS, or C:\WINNT\FONTS for nearly all of you. If you're running LINUX, you probably already know where they go. If you're running MacOS, you scare me, so don't worry about it)

Things are a lot clearer today, and that's a bit of a relief.

On the other hand, Job Fairs still suck, and last night I realized that the long-ass walk of the other day gave me one of the worst blisters I've ever gotten. There's a significant piece of my heel that's going to fall off soon, and it's a little tender. And now my right ankle is all torn up too. So now I'm just messed up below my ankles, and above my neck. Other than that, all is well. So I'm gonna go sleep.

I screwed everything up again.

Mend0zA on Wednesday, September 25 2002 6:52 PM

I seem to be doing that a lot lately.

But this time I'm only talking about my website. I think it's recovered nicely, but I could be wrong.

I can't take me anymore.

Mend0zA on Monday, September 23 2002 6:40 PM

I give up.

Stuffed. So very stuffed.

Mend0zA on Saturday, September 21 2002 11:42 PM

Please don't eat us.
Baaa, Oink. Whatever. Get in my belly!
Today marked the annual Ljubicic Barbeque. Roast Pig and Roast Lamb are oh so good. Enough so to make up for the fact that they came complete with faces. Djorge (My money's on that being spelled wrong) has a daughter. That seems vaguely odd to me. Though it really isn't. Bailey didn't try to eat me, and I made a pig of myself. So there's what I have to say about that.

Come on rain down on me

Mend0zA on Saturday, September 21 2002 1:56 AM

Please could you stop the noise, I'm trying to get some rest
From all the unborn chicken voices in my head
What's that...? (I may be paranoid, but not an android)
What's that...? (I may be paranoid, but not an android)

When I am king, you will be first against the wall
With your opinion which is of no consequence at all
What's that...? (I may be paranoid, but no android)
What's that...? (I may be paranoid, but no android)

Ambition makes you look pretty ugly
Kicking and squealing gucci little piggy
You don't remember
You don't remember
Why don't you remember my name?
Off with his head, man
Off with his head, man
Why don't you remember my name?
I guess he does....

Rain down, rain down
Come on rain down on me
From a great height
From a great height...
height...
Rain down, rain down
Come on rain down on me
From a great height
From a great height... height...
Rain down, rain down
Come on rain down on me

TThat's it, sir
You're leaving
The crackle of pigskin
The dust and the screaming
The yuppies networking
The panic, the vomit
The panic, the vomit
God loves his children, God loves his children, yeah!

I am unbelievably sore right now. And tired.

I've got some thinking to do.

Mend0zA on Friday, September 20 2002 9:18 PM

I need a change of scenery. So I'm taking a long ass walk tonight.

Avast ye scurvy dogs!

Mend0zA on Friday, September 20 2002 12:33 AM

Today was Talk Like a Pirate-Day.

Since that's the most important holiday of the year, I thought I'd let anyone reading this know.

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrh Mateys!

KWEH

Mend0zA on Thursday, September 19 2002 4:17 AM

For the love of god, no more Kweh. Kweh?!, Kweeeh! Kweeeeeeh! or any other variations! The gibberish has lost all meaning!

So now I sit here...

Mend0zA on Tuesday, September 17 2002 12:41 AM

...replaying the great fuck up that is my life. And I don't much like it.

2nd. Shortest. Visit. Ever.

Mend0zA on Sunday, September 15 2002 8:55 PM

Well, that was brief.

I think I had bad chicken tonight. So I'll blame that for the vomitting.

Magnolia is weird.

Mend0zA on Sunday, September 15 2002 12:31 AM

And depressing as all hell.

Oh yay.

Mend0zA on Saturday, September 14 2002 1:51 AM

Unreal Tournament 2003 Demo is out. In other news, life sucks!

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

Also, my FTP is back up, to some extent, so you can give me account info if you want me to set you up. Also, it seems to suck.

Goodbye

Mend0zA on Friday, September 13 2002 5:12 PM

Goodbye, acryllic stud #2. Your life was all too brief, but my teeth thank you for your noble sacrifice.

ugggh.

Mend0zA on Friday, September 13 2002 2:45 AM

Well, in atypically good news, I managed to decrypt some important files that've been out of commision for the last month or so.

I'd claim to be all l33t or something, except that it was only because I still had access to the private key they were encrypted with.

Blue Pepsi - The definitive review.

Mend0zA on Tuesday, September 10 2002 9:13 PM

It's like drinking a blue freezie.

So decide from that whether to try it, or to avoid it like the plague.

Doves!

Mend0zA on Tuesday, September 10 2002 2:56 AM

In a testament to just how good Doves are (is?), that concert was incredible, despite my life as of late.

I was pretty much content to miss the concert, but Posty insisted, so off we went downtown, cuz he had some shopping to do. In the most insane store I've ever been to. AZERTY keyboards, replacement vibrator motors, beakers, crunched computer components, Intellivision games in their original packaging, blank dice, horns, knobs, and every electrical component I could conceivably imagine. Even ON/ON switches, which must get frustrating.

Then we wondered down past Gordon's shoe repair (I gotta get a pic of that some time), and then when time drew near, we wandered over to the Kool Haus, which yeah, may be redone, and is a lot nicer, but good god what a stupid name.

Scalpers were dicks, as usual, but we managed to run into a nice couple who had 2 extra tickets, and the scalpers wanted to screw them too, so we got tickets real cheap, and they recouped a good chunk of what they'd paid, so everyone benefitted.

The opening act,       , okay, I never actually caught their name...We were sort of way off to the side, and they were just completely echo-y when the lead singer spoke. Good, though. Not Dove-like, but not so much not, as to be grating.

Doves took the stage a litttle after 10, and played an Amazing set. They opened with Pounding, I think. Then There Goes the Fear, which sort of surprised me. It was extremely Last Broadcast-heavy, but that's a good thing. Not that their old stuff isn't good, just that Last Broadcast is great. Only 2 or 3 songs I didn't already know, but they closed with something Totally unexpected. Possibly from a previous album, but you generally don't expect a rock quartet to suddenly jump into techno. Let alone good techno. Since it got a pretty big crowd reaction, I'm hoping it is indeed something older, because it was great.

Things I did not know about Doves:

  • There are 3 quite capable singers in the group
  • The lead singer/bassist seems to be a better drummer than the drummer.

Okay, short list, but I've gotta get some sleep, because I need to get up and do a bunch of stuff. None of which will be fun.

Thanks Posty, you have no idea how much I needed tonight.

:(

Mend0zA on Monday, September 9 2002 2:57 AM

Well, I'd call that a fun weekend, except that it wasn't. But I'm watching a story about Hurricane Andrew, so I suppose it could be worse.

Just doesn't seem like it.

Unnnnnnnnnngh Part 2.

Mend0zA on Sunday, September 8 2002 5:48 PM

Ow. My finger.

Unnnnnnnnnngh.

Mend0zA on Sunday, September 8 2002 4:49 PM

Ow my head.

Whatever.

Mend0zA on Friday, September 6 2002 11:40 PM

I'm just fucking pissed right now, but whatever, who cares, right?

bye.

Blue Pepsi review #1

Mend0zA on Tuesday, September 3 2002 11:05 PM

It doesn't even remotely taste like Pepsi.

It's just some blue crap with fizzies. No Pepsi likeness at all, at all.

At least vanilla coke has a coke-ness about it. So does cherry coke. But not this blue crap.

                        Patricia

Will sucks big floppy donkey dick.

Mend0zA on Tuesday, September 3 2002 10:29 PM

That sums it up.

I'm gonna rollerblade to Florida! Only not!

I'm King of the Kitchen!

Goatse is disturbing. Don't click that link!!!!!!!1

My life gets weirder and weirder all the time

Insomnia sucks. Nightmares suck too. Recurring Nightmares really suck.

I should setup my ftp server again, I think.

Musical Interlude

Mend0zA on Tuesday, September 3 2002 3:04 AM

Garbage - Cup of Coffee

You tell me you don't love me
Over a cup of coffee
And I just have to look away
A million miles between us
Planets crash into dust
I just let it fade away

I'm walking empty streets
Hoping we might meet
I see your car parked on the road
The light on at your window
I know for sure that you're home
And I just have to pass on by
So no, of course, we can't be friends
Not while I'm still this obsessed
I guess I always knew the score
This is how our story ends

I smoke your brand of cigarettes
And pray that you might give me a call
I lie around on bed all day just staring at the walls
Hanging around bars at night wishing I had never been born
and give myself to anyone who wants to take me home

So no, of course, we can't be friends
Not while I still feel like this
I guess I always knew the score
This is where our story ends

You left behind some clothes
My belly summersaults
When I pick them off the floor
My friends all say they're worried
I'm looking far too skinny
I stop returning all their calls

And no, of course, we can't be friends
Not while I'm still so obsessed
I want to ask where I went wrong
But don't say anything at all

It took a cup of coffee
To prove that you don't love me

Wow.

Mend0zA on Monday, September 2 2002 4:21 AM

It takes no time at all to fill a 20 Gig Hard Drive. Though now that XP lets me totally abuse home networking, that doesn't matter too much. I basically have, let's see, 80 in this machine, 61 in the kitchen, and 50 in my brother's room. And it's ALL MINE!!! MWA HA HA HA. Actually, 200 Gig isn't as big as it should be.

I really need to clean up this machine though. Lots of stuff I don't need/want anymore.
