The Internet Makes You Stupid
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet!
Last night, I went to all the trouble of redesigning the banner, cuz the Tenenbaum's logo wasn't doing it for me anymore. But now I'm itching to do another one. First, Full Throttle 2 was announced at E3, and now Lucasarts comes out of right field and announces Sam & Max Hit the Road Again. Oh, how I loved Sam & Max back in the day.
Anyways, yeah, so I may get bored enough tonight to do a S&M or just old-school Lucasarts banner. Though maybe I won't put it on the main page. Who knows? I'm a regular mystery wrapped in an enigma, wrapped in a soft-tortilla shell.
Musical Interlude
Sam Roberts - Brother Down
One life to live but we're doing it right, you see,
cap a brother down cause he's nothing to me.
Everyone's saying that it's wrong to cheat,
but there's no other way to get my life on easy street.
Someone else telling you what you're living for,
been knocking you down, now you're looking for more.
All sudden you hear is a closing door,
been looking for peace but they're bringing you war.
Rich man crying cause his money is time.
Poor man smiling cause he knows he ain't lying.
There's a man over there says he's tougher than me,
but I've got eyes that can see through fantasy.
I think my life is passing me by.
I think my life is passing me by.
Take it all back cause it don't mean nothing,
but if you give it away, and you're looking for something back.
Wake up every morning and there's nothing there.
No reason to die, no reason to care.
Someone else telling you what you're living for,
been knocking you down, now you're looking for more.
All sudden you hear is a closing door,
been looking for peace but they're bringing you war.
One life to live but we're doing it right, you see,
cap a brother down cause he's nothing to me.
Rich man crying cause his money is time.
Poor man smiling cause he knows he ain't lying.
I think my life is passing me by.
I think my life is passing me by...
And I don't care what anyone else says. Sam Roberts sounds a hell of a lot like Perry Ferrel.
Pay no attention to what time I'm posting this
Because it really makes it look like I've been dwelling on this for several hours. Or, 9 years. Which would be really pathetic.
Anyways, something about that night back in high school never quite made sense to me. And now, it finally does!
I'd always had a nagging feeling that my life had to be secretly more interesting than it seemed. I mean, it had to be, didn't it?
Not sure why I felt like (not) sharing, but yeah, it's always fun being a mere decade shy of current events. :)
Gordie from Simpsons:
"I moved here from Canada and they think I'm slow, eh?"
Man that seems appropriate.
Though now I've had a disturbing thought...What am I going to finally figure out when I turn 33? sigh. i suck.
But really, I haven't been dwelling on it all evening, I swear.
I *loathe* Rogers
Cable's been out all day. Man it's dull with nothing to do.
Insomnia sucks
But incrimination can be surprisingly fun.
I'm tired of sitting at my desk. So I'm gonna go lie in bed and not sleep, for a nice change of scenery.
I am a genus!
Okay, I figured out the Windows Messenger bug. Sort of.
If you're running XP, and having trouble getting Messenger to run (at all) under multiple user profiles, each profile must download the 4.6 upgrade. I don't know why, but they do, and then everything is happy.
Ta Da!
I think I'm gonna go crawl into a hole for a few days.
Sa-wheeeeet!
New bawx! And it's going to take me a month to get everything setup just right, but I guess I'll live. In other news, kill me! Yippee!
:(
I wanna be on Broadway!
Or not. I'm off to God-Knows-Where, Ontario, to see a "Broadway Revue". Dad's already gone on record to say that I won't like it.
That's a good sign. Or, rather, it isn't.
Fell in Love with a Girl
The Hives are The Strokes are The White Stripes are someone else.
That was the shortest night at the Phoenix ever. That was also the longest stretch of good songs in a row they've ever played. But it happened way too early. And seriously, it was short. We were back from Timmy's well before 2. I just didn't think to update until now. And now I sleep.
I hate naps
I might not be super coherent, not that I ever am.
Man, it's been awhile since I updated. So to review:
Tuesday
Dad had his baseball party thing. I slept in, and then couldn't be bothered showering. So I stunk all day.Wednesday
Cousins from Illinois were up visiting, so my house became party central. In total, I think we had somewhere around 40 people here. I also make a passable bartender (Jeff makes a worse one), and a terrible waiter. Everyone was shocked that *gasp* I'm actually able to watch after a child without kicking them, or throwing them into the pool, or throwing tennis balls at them, etc. etc. Just because I don't like kids, doesn't mean I'm PURE EVIL. Okay, conceivably I am, but not in regards to kids.Thursday
Thursday consisted of going rollerblading for about the 3rd time this summer. Allison and I discovered all sorts of things. Ice Cream Trucks are creepy. When traffic flows to the right of your car, and you're parked, you did a bad job parking. Big chunks of glass are almost enough to wipe me out. Screaming like a little girl right before impacting with a stationary Gord softens the blow. Somehow. We have a garden. Afterwards we hung out in the basement, until my stomach decided to get violent. And then I got Whiskey in my eye. Not a great end to a fun night. Ooooh, and I gave her Jedi Outcast and Carmageddon, because a) I still intend to turn her into a gamer, and b) Noone will let me cut them up with a light sabre anymore. Vwoing-vwing-vwing!Friday
Friday was mostly spent recovering from rollerblading. I mean, I'm in peak physical condition, and rollerblading had no effect on me whatsoever. Actually, to be honest, I've been asleep for the last two hours or so, and I'm blanking on what happened Friday. I know I picked up a CD spindle and Simpsons Season Two at Futureshop (and I have to return Simpsons, due to bad discs), and of course, I went to my Grandma's house for dinner. Still, I think I did more than that. Oh well. I also saved the universe from something. Yeah, that's the ticket.Saturday
Tuckered out from saving the universe, and having the house to myself, I slept nice and late on Saturday. Then I realized I had the house to myself, so I was somewhat stuck at home. So, no running to Futureshop for me. Eventually I went Phoenixing, complete with scary men in dresses. 4 of them. No clue why. Though thankfully they seemed to know each other, so it likely wasn't a matter of them not having anything else to wear. Other highlights: I've crossed the line into 'scary psychic powers' with Allison. Actually, I'm not sure she put it that way exactly...BUT SHE THOUGHT IT!!!!1 The Phoenix Couch is in terrible shape. Spider-Man is cool. The Hulk isn't. CP24 is the best animated cartoon ever. It was hot. I had crack on my pizza. Hat? Walmart is open 24 Hours. Tim Horton employees suck.So my retelling of Saturday ends sometime around 4 am, with me passing out, exhausted into bed.
Sunday
Only to be woken up by vaccuuming about oh, say, 20 minutes later! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Okay, it was 8ish, but what the hell? I was kinda pissed. But I guess our house was vaguely in need of cleaning after all the wild and crazy partys we'd had this week. And, it had to be ready for the next one, which was a few hours later. Jeff had a BBBQ* for his Birthday. Lots of people from Australia (none originally, it seemed), and all *sigh* gainfully employed. Grrrrrrr. teachers. But anyways, yeah, time for a repeat of bartending/waitering. And swimming, which was much better. Sometime around 7, my stomach again decided to be unhappy, so I crawled onto my couch, and pretty much remained there until I woke up a little after midnight. So now I've got bedhead (though insanely soft hair, which definitely beats how I generally wake up) and likely won't manage to get to sleep again tonight. So that brings everything up to speed. Oh, except that I'm going completely out of my mind. It's all about the Green Duck
My Webserver seems to be doing something very odd today
I'll write a proper update sometime soon, but not until after I figure out what's going on here. But at least now I know Patricia managed to get home safely. Eventually. :)
Peace Out Y'all
I'm off for the long-weekend. So I'll be gone til late Monday, methinks.
If you want to get in touch with me before then, I might check Hotmail. It's pretty unlikely though.
Ooooooh. Hot Dayum. I need a job, like right quick.
Well, I've had an interesting week
Sorry for lack of updates, but I just haven't felt like updating writing a whole lot lately. Not really sure why.
Monday, I'd intended to head downtown scouting restaurants. But Grandma showed up, ixnaying those plans. Oh well, it worked out. I swear more than that happened, but nothing's popping into my head. So I'll say I also went swimming.
Tuesday was, well, amazing. But I hardly needed convincing that would be the case. Important notes though:
- I didn't try to push Allison in front of a train. I actually held her back when she lunged for said train. Slight difference.
- I forget what joke nearly killed her, but I think it might have been popping cherries. Or ketchup sex. My bad either way.
- Attention: The Building is on fire. Please sit there and ignore this fact.
- We're seriously screwed up. Not that this is newsworthy.
- People watching is fun. Though three-legged men are frightening.
Wednesday was great too, in spite of my moronicity.
On a completely unrelated note, for anyone that's ever used Kali extensively, Quake 3 won't work for me. The console pops up, loads all my .pk3s, and then exits, and dumps me back into Kali. Any thoughts?
