Well, I've discovered a whole new level of fun. I spent the evening with my left leg propped up and iced. The pool's open. I suspect I won't use it at all this summer. The crazy bug bite on my left arm has mellowed, but it certainly isn't gone by any means.

Oh well. Not like I expect anything to go my way these days.

Today I finished off the Books of Blood (or, at least, the two thirds of it I've managed to find). I thought I'd built up a significant backlog of books to read.

I was wrong. Well, maybe not. I did have a backlog, but I've worked through it.

All I've got left, is The Vampire Armand, and I'm terrified to read it.

Interview was great. Lestat was better. Queen of the Damned was the best of the series. Body Thief was horrible. Memnoch wasn't great (though as the 2nd of the series I read, it obviously didn't scare me off). So now I'm at the sixth, and final (well, probably not) book, and the series seems to have gone downhill rapidly.

But with no other books to choose from, it'll have to do.

And now that I've had time to reflect on Bill Bryson's Notes From a Small Island, I can calmly offer this summary/review (see if you can guess if I liked it or not):

"I went to a small village in England. It was rainy. I got soaked, and desponded that all the old buildings had been replaced by office towers. I went to the next Village by some horrible method of transportation. It was exactly like the last 8 Billion English towns I've already droned on about. I like England though."

Yes, waiting to write about it helped alot. I didn't use the word Fucking even once.

The world seems pretty evenly split between people who'd like to see me dead, and people who could care less.

What I earlier thought was a minor bugbite seems to have enveloped my left arm just below the elbow, and has spread to about a third of the way around my arm. It's purple. I think I'll call it King Steve III. By sheer force of will, it's not itchy.

I've got a nagging suspicion that my CPU is dying. Namely, it's misreporting its own clockspeed (I do not own a 400 MHz machine). On the one hand, my cpu/mobo have been in desperate need of replacing for quite some time. on the other hand, I really can't afford to replace either one. I'm already in debt on account of the HD crash of last month.

Bleaaaargh!

In more uplifting news, Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast is amazing. Between it, and Episode II, there hasn't been a time as good to be a Star Wars fan, in a long, long time.

I'm getting really fucking sick of being considered a non-person.

And I'm hungry.

Now, there's leftover pizza in the fridge, so my plan of action seems obvious.

But, I've had pizza, or pizza-based concoctions for 4 meals in a row at this point, so more pizza doesn't strike me as particularly appetizing right now.

And it's late enough to rule out running out and finding something good to eat. That also means that I should be quiet so as not to disturb any of the other, more important people sleeping in my house.

So, lack of options has made updating my page seem tempting. And this incoherent rambling post is the result.

Well, since I seem to be a thoroughly unemployable freak, I guess I should occupy my time in some kind of productive manner.

That was one of the oddest, most disturbing, and clearly remembered dreams I've ever had. So much for sleep.

Tony Hawk 3 is the quintessential Skateboarding game. It exactly captures the look, feel, and fun of skateboarding.






That is to say, it isn't the slightest bit of fun at all, at times it's excrutiatingly painful, but there's cool clothes involved.

Congratulations to Lara on singlehandedly taking my last remaining shreds of sanity, ripping them apart, and stomping all over them.

Another year, another chance for me to whine about not going to E3. Even if I were inclined to do something about getting there, I couldn't afford it.

Kingdom Hearts looks sweet. And how could Disney/Square go wrong? Hmmm, putting Square in charge of the story, while Disney does the game. Yeah, that would do it nicely. But that's not what happened.

And of course, noone reading this page actually gives a flying crap about games, so why am I wasting my time? Oh yeah, cuz it's so much easier than writing about anything else.

Typing of the Dead remains the oddest game I've ever played. But it's also insanely fun.

Just got back from Posty's house, where much fun was had with TotD, and his Bizzaro world Voodoo Easter. Also, I'm a much better typist than I am a marksman.

Well, the Splash page is done. I refuse to admit how long I spent on it.

I don't know what it is, but I can't find anything online lately. So I've had to write most of the site's javascript myself. Which isn't a problem, coding is fun. But I haven't done a great deal of javascript coding in the past.

And I'm getting about as good with Photoshop as is possible, for a person with absolutely no art skills.

Okay, I've run out of things to talk about, I think.

I can either lie in bed and beat myself up, or I can sit here at the computer and beat myself up. Choices, choices.

Maybe I'll attempt coding some more. Oddly, that seems to make me feel better.

Spider-Man was gooood. I liked it a lot more than X-Men, at least. I still say the Green Goblin didn't look...right. Well, scratch that, he didn't look anything like the original, and that's a shame. He didn't seem nearly as stupid looking as, say, Mr. Freeze.

Best of all, instead of having bit players in roles that might be important in later movies, *cough*Eddie Brock*cough* they kept them off-screen. Thus avoiding another Billy Dee/Tommy Lee fiasco.

Vlad brought Spider-Man for PSX by, so I entertained myself with that, and trying to think up exactly what I want to put on my splash page. Thus far, I've come up with two ideas: Bupkiss and Nada. I think I'll spend the rest of the night implementing them.

I really should be doing something completely different right now.

Blue Domino continues to swap servers on me, seemingly at random. So I don't know which of the 2 sets of news posts are going to show up. Which means it's entirely possible noone will ever read this.

They also broke some of my email addresses. Or, more exactly, changed the passwords on them.

Now I've got to design my splash page. I know some people aren't fans of them, but it's the only way I can think of do something I've wanted to do for a long time.

Thanks to Allison, for if she slept like a normal human being, instead of keeping the same hours as me, this site would be an even bigger horrible mess than it actually is.

I can't make up my mind whether or not to try to retype the last post (from before the site got trashed) from memory or not. On one hand, I feel it was important, but part of what made it important was the time it was posted. And I can't actually doctor times. At least not easily. Speaking of which, I've got to get the time of these posts working properly with the server's clock.

BlueDomino just wiped my site out, at 4:30 AM, the day I told people I'd relaunched it.

Hopefully before I go to sleep tonite, I can restore everything but the news postings (which are gone forever), and possibly the site logo (classy to not have one), unless I can dig up a copy.
