So hold on...
I've had a lousy week.
I was reading this article on CBC.ca about the "curse" on winners of the best supporting actress Oscar. I found it dimly amusing that the author writes:
"In spite of all of this supposed evidence, something about the supporting actress curse just doesn’t sit right with me. For one thing, the annual reminder of it smacks of sexism. There are several male supporting winners who’ve been just as unlucky — if you don’t believe me, visit the Internet Movie Database to see what Louis Gossett Jr. and Cuba Gooding Jr. have been up to lately."
And then spends the rest of the article complaining that the "curse" is simply a result of a lack of decent roles for women in Hollywood. And I wholeheartedly agree. If Holywood wasn't terribly against women, Louis Gossett Jr. and Cuba Gooding Jr. would be able to get decent roles. Or, possibly, Lee Furguson would be able to keep a coherent thought together for an entire article.
So I may have wasted a great deal of effort
Guess I'll find out tomorrow night. It's Left4Dead night!
