Really, it is.

It's strange. I'd expect myself to want to just sleep through the next week or so, but for once, I don't want to sleep at all.

Well, no Conan for me, it seems.

Oh well, both attempts were fun.

Tonight, less fun.

I know it's beta, and shouldn't be considered the final game, but honestly, not much changes between public betas and release...it's just a server load-test.

I've never had less fun playing videogames. It's terrible.

It's Blue! Blue Blue Blue!

I just had the longest, dumbest argument with my father ever.

I've been playing way too many World War II inspired, Quake 3 Engine, Undying team First Person Shooters of late.

They're good, but still, it's starting to affect my subconcious.

Breakthrough is too short, but hey, it's an expansion. Seemed longer than Blue Shift, though not as long as Opposing Force. And longer than Spearhead, which would be a better comparison.

Call of Duty pushes the Q3 engine harder than I've ever seen it work before. On the other hand, even my machine gets bogged down on occasion.

Also, both games seem to suffer from the Nazis occasionally forgetting they're holding guns, and want to make me die.

They'll just stand there for awhile. Sometimes 10/15 seconds, and not fire a shot. And no, they're not reloading.

Other times, they'll just hide around the corner, and fire over their shoulder. So it's a mixed bag. I guess some of the Nazis are just much much brighter than the others.

Oh, and EAX is much improved from the days of Half-Life. And yet it still doesn't come anywhere close to what A3D used to do.

On an unrelated note, and to fulfill my blog's yearly angst requirements, I'll add that the suspense is killing me.
