What would Jesus Blog?
Escape!
It's getting colder and colder every day. We've got our fingers crossed that we'll make it back to Ontario soon. Which would be fine by me. I can't say I'm looking forward to the roads becoming impassable, since nothing is going to shut down the call centre for any reason whatsoever.
They are shutting it down for American Thanksgiving.
Vanilla Ice was less sad originally.
I got nothin'.
Shocking Confession
I like videogames.
No, really. I do. I like them alot. I don't know why, I just do. My girlfriend likes them too. Not nearly as much as I do, but she likes them. This is a fact that I sometimes forget. So I'm randomly slightly surprised when she picks up a controller and joins me. I shouldn't be, at this point, but there it is. For various reasons, we tend to play cooperatively, not competetively. And after the last month or so, I have to say, there aren't nearly enough Co-op games getting released. Burnout 3's crash mode was Co-op. Revenge's isn't. Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monk has Co-op, but I sort of get the impression it isn't going over so well. Which is sort of a shame, because shockingly, the game is...half-decent.
Which brings me to reason I started writing this. Patricia took a quick trip to Ottawa Wednesday, and came home yesterday. And brought a surprise in the form of Lego Star Wars, a game I've had a hard time trying to find for a price I'm willing to pay. We played a demo of it a while back, and it seemed to go down well. I'd kind of forgotten how much Patricia liked it.
Anyways, it's been written before, but all games can learn from Lego Star Wars. By all rights, it should be awful. 3rd person Star Wars action game. And while the Lego aspect obviously adds a demented level of charm, the real reason this game is selling well is that it supports Co-op, and that Co-op is drop-in, drop-out. Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks would be an absolutely fantastic game, with just that one change.
"But coding an AI helper character would be far too difficult!" I hear Midway cry. Fine, make the 2nd player character appear/disappear whenever they join/leave. I mean, my God, playing through Single Player Mode, Liu Kang would just magically appear whenever the story required him to be there, so I don't buy that excuse.
I'll stop ranting now.
To the click, if any of you ever make to my site anymore: Get Serious Sam II. I promise I'll even try to play with you guys.
In summation, Co-op, Co-op, Co-op.
Also, Mario Party 7 is due out soon. Didn't 6 come out like...3 months ago?
I say this over and over
I really do need to update this page more often.
Patricia's a bit under the weather, so we haven't had a thrill-a-minute weekend. Could be worse, we could both be sick.
Evidentally, my brother and sister-in-law have bought a new house, so congratulations on that. Hopefully they're not so busy selling their current house that they never see this. Which seems quite likely, actually, as I doubt they ever read this page.
I keep meaning to organize all my movies etc. into some manageable form. I think I might need to buy a few more 208 Disc binders, and then go from there.
