I should sell Playstation 3s for a living.
Apparently I can sell something.
Batman:Arkham Asylum
Batman:Arkham Asylum is quite probably the best game to come out this year. I'd write more, but I'm off to work.
Fixed again
And all the posts are back. This time with their original posting times! Go me!
So I read on the internet that Vick's VapoRub can cure toenail fungus. I'm putting it to the test. And my feet are burning.
Whoops.
Well, I suck. I deleted a chunk of my website again. This time, I have backups, but I'll restore things some other time, as I'm off to buy a bus pass and go to work.
Some day...
Eventually I'll get in the habit of updating this on a fairly regular basis, but that time is not now.
One of my hard drives died, quite possibly permanently, but I already had replacements ready to go, so that's a good thing. It turns out a Dell Dimension 9200 will not support RAID 5 with its built-in RAID controller, so I've set up RAID 0, and then have an extra terrabyte for Video/Music/whatever.
I've also switched over to Windows 7 Professional Retail, had some fun with it not liking my key (had to install WinXP first), but aside from that, it went well.
I also finally managed to share a printer from Win7 64 with Vista 32. The fix is so hopelessly hack-y. Basically:
- Delete the printer, or any sign of it from the Win Vista machine
- Add a printer manually, to LPT1
- Add a 'new port' (local) and then enter the "\\ComputerName\PrinterName"
Your guess is as good as mine as to how, precisely, that's different than going through the add printer wizard, and yet, somehow, magically, it is.
Hallowe'en came and went. Patricia and I ran away for the evening and saw Couples Retreat. Aside from a completely retarded ending, it was pretty good.
A Big Thank You
Thanks to Jesse, my overwritten updates are back. I can't seem to revise the time of day, so they're stuck at 12:00 AM until I can figure that out, but they're back.
Patricia and I went to Kingston for the weekend, and had a good time. We went to Fort Fright which was much better done than I'd expected.
Despite my repeatedly beating myself up all weekend, and an overall worsening of my health, it was fun.
It would appear
That a good chunk of my site got overwritten. I do not believe I have any way of retrieving it.
You are glad to be DEAD, aren't you?
So, my XBox is all tricked out in Monkey Islandness, and since I managed to sneak (along with about 8 million other people) into a beta of the new 360 dashboard, my Avatar is too!
So I have a very large email backlog. I'll get through it eventually, I promise.
Moved
We've reached our new apartment, and the move went well.
It did, however, take Rogers over a week(!) to get our phone/internet hooked up. We're switching to Bell ASAP on the phone, and if Bell's internet offerings didn't suck, I'd switch that too.
EM OH YOU ESS EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
So we've got a mouse running around our apartment. It's been fun.
Also, (s)he failed to kill him/herself while we were out for dinner.
On the one hand
I can really use this extra shift, but on the other hand, I need to pack. Moving this Sunday, and there's a lot left to do.
I should not currently be awake
I've upgraded to Windows 7, and thus far I'm very much enjoying it. I kind of screwed up dual-boot, so I can't really get back into Windows XP for now, but I haven't really felt much need to do so.
My scanner appears to be the only casualty, as Canon hasn't seen fit to make 64-bit drivers for it.
An update!
New job. Meat Clerk. New Home. Non-basement apartment.
Who needs verbs?
What the hell?
So yeah, they definitely both smoke. And despite being asked to smoke outside, they don't seem to be doing so. We've started looking at apartments, nothing spectacular thus far, though we've at least got 1 in the maybe file.
Also, our new neighbours use a lot of water. Whatever amount you're thinking, double that. The shower upstairs ran on Thursday or Friday morning from, no joke, 7:30 - 10:30 or later. And since I took my shower during that period, I can at least attest that it wasn't hot water. Since then, they've pretty much continuously run the laundry machine/dishwasher, including most of Saturday, which is when they're supposed to leave the laundry for us. I'd be upset, but mostly I'm just mystified.
Well...this blows.
We have new neighbours. At least one (possibly both) smoke.
We're so moving.
Thank goodness.
So I just spent the last hour or so under the impression that in my recent reformat, I had lost this. I did not. That really could have sucked.
